To our parent community,
This is an unprecedented time in Ontario education and you can be rest assured we are doing everything we can to keep the education of our students moving forward in a positive direction. The Ministry has launched a “Learning at Home” website and we have as a board, provided additional direction to our parents from our teaching and support staff.
Please make sure you check our website regularly and we will also continue to use social media in order to provide updates. We also want to ensure we are reaching all of our families during this challenging time so if you are aware of any family who is having difficult accessing the information please let us know.
This week the province provided more direction regarding the “Learn from Home” program and its expectations. They are as follows:
– Kindergarten-Grade 3: five hours of work per student/week (focus on literacy and math)
– Grades 4-6: five hours of work per student/week (focus on literacy, math, science and social studies)
– Grades 7-8: 10 hours of work per student/week (focus on math, literacy, science and social studies)
We are constantly adjusting our digital learning tools to best suit the needs of all of our students and following the direction provided by the Ministry. Please feel free to contact us if you need additional supports or just want to ask a questions.
Mr. Kelly Brown
Superintendent of Education
